A building is a functional programme first. Everything else follows from getting that right.
The studio treats inhabitable space as a live thing — a set of interactions between the people in it, the climate around it, and the way it is built. The design process is a long argument with that programme until the plan stops fighting it.
We hold to material purity and aim at serenity, so that the delight a house gives is the kind that stays. That position came out of an apprenticeship with Kamal Mangaldas, and it has not moved much since.
Every project is modelled in full and carried to construction documentation in-house. Nothing is fudged in two dimensions to save modelling time — a habit that costs more at the front and pays for itself on site.

Shrutiniwas Sharma
Fifteen years across practice, construction technology and teaching. M.Tech from IIT Delhi, B.Arch from MANIT Bhopal. Before the studio, Shapoorji Pallonji, Saint-Gobain Research and the RICS School of Built Environment — a decade spent as close to how buildings are actually put together as to how they are drawn.
Founded Studio Shrutiniwas in 2021 and has led every project in it since. He also teaches working drawings and project management at SPA Delhi as visiting faculty, and lectures at IITs, CPWD and industry bodies — in an individual capacity, alongside the practice.
LinkedInAnumeha Singh
Eleven years across the public and the private realm. M.Arch in Landscape Architecture from SPA Delhi, B.Arch from NIT Raipur. Before this, the Delhi Development Authority, WSP and Brookfield Properties, and project landscape architect at GMR.
She has shaped the ground of every house the studio has built — planting, water and level worked out with the plan rather than laid over it once the shell is up.
LinkedInSudhanshu Shekhar
Came to the studio as an intern in 2023, was taught here, and returned as an architect in 2025. B.Arch from SPA Delhi, Graphisoft BIM Certified since 2024.
He carries the models from design development through to GFC — currently NYAY Villa 105 and The Jaunsar at Chakrata.
LinkedInAny kind, any scale, anywhere. Houses, farmhouses and resorts so far — concept through construction documentation. The studio takes the brief before it takes the location.
Ground, planting and water designed with the plan, not after it.
For the studio's own buildings, and at the top end. The interior language here is deliberately restrained, and that is the work it suits.
Not yet built at this scale. It is the commission the studio is looking for.
